As the state promises gun rights activists they’re not coming for their guns, behind the scences they’re pleading for it to happen. And now the feared gun grab is occurring. Residents in Deerfield, Illinois have 60 days to surrender their “assault weapons” or face fines of $1000 per day per gun.
The gun ban ordinance was passed on April 2nd with residents left with few choices of how to dispose of their valuable “assault weapons.” Upon careful reading of the ordinance, residents will be left with revolvers, .22 caliber “plinking” rifles, and double barrel shotguns to defend their homes and families from criminals who could care less about the law.

    1. I'll vote for this as long as the town council members conduct the raids.

  4. Anyone who hasn't already started shooting communist's in Illinois probably never will. The reason that the communist party is winning can be summed up with the phrase "law abiding gun owner". Voting has failed. The Courts have failed. NO ONE in government at any level obeys the law of the land. How much longer will the common man wait I wonder?---Ray

It will have to get much worst before, I believe.

  5. No worry, there will not be one boycott, protest, or gun fired in defiance of the law.

The sheep will obey without a whimper.

  6. This Mexican stand-off is going to get interesting. It's Illinois so the State weenies aren't gonna jump in. But I'm hoping the Feds will.

  7. Sadly, I've lived in this area all my life. Northern Illinois and Chicago in particular have zero respect for the rights of citizens. If this was happening in a more "Freedom Loving," area of the nation there might be some pushback. I see the residents Deerfield, at least 99.7% will willingly turn in their guns. The remaining five or six will be arrested, without violence.

We saw what can happen, look at the militia that protected and guarded Bundy. The government blinked and lost. But this is Illinois, filled with good little socialist democrats. They will obey, because that is all they know.

Here is where it will go wrong for the leftist socialists. They will see the victory and think the entire nation will just roll over. If the guns are confiscated, peacefully. Then expect, California, Illinois, New York, and other states to ban “Assault Weapons.” That will be their downfall. People, millions of people will fight back.

    1. I have a friend in Southern Illinois who says that area is very different from the rest of the state and it is actually further South than Richmond Virginia. I believe they had Confederates raised there.

  8. I live in Eastern Iowa, grew up in a small river town, Princeton. In our town cemetery are Civil War graves. This was a divided area, there are graves for both Union and Confederate soldiers. I can’t remember their names, but I know at least two families had sons die for each side.

Just a little aside, to show the changes in education. It had to be either 3rd or 4th grade. Our teacher had the class walk to the cemetery and record names of Civil War soldiers for class. I don’t remember why we did it, just that we did. Can you imagine a teacher doing that today? Our little town school only had first through fourth grades. For fifth grade we went to a one room county school. We were the last class before they “modernized.” There was no indoor plumbing. We had outhouses and a pump for water. There was a table in the alcove just inside the door. It had a bucket of water and dipper. And yes, we all drank from that dipper. AND LIVED!
