Commie Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez win stuns Democrats, puts new attention on Pelosi

Via Billy

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former campaign organizer for Bernie Sanders, pulled off a stunning upset in New York City on Tuesday by defeating Rep. Joseph Crowley, D-N.Y., a member of party leadership who was considered all but a shoo-in.

Crowley, 56, a 10-term incumbent from Queens and fierce Trump-basher, was a steady fundraiser for fellow Democrats and was thought by some to be a future speaker of the House.

  1. A Trump basher, Crowley, goes down in flames to a 28 year old Communist/Socialist/Marxist. 50% of the voters in the 14th District are Hispanic which may explain what happened. Ocasio-Cortez is attractive and will garner a lot of face time on TV, but she ought to look at Venezuela before embracing a socialist doctrine. She won't make a difference in the House, but this may portend of trouble when admitting large numbers of Hispanics into the USA.

  2. A Bernie light... The same old, tired marxist claptrap rhetoric. Getting rid of ICE? Only because they are becoming effective and efficient of identifying and deporting all of her cousins! Funny how her status is not displayed, is she an illegal herself or born of illegals herself?

      Just checked:

Ms Ocasio-Cortez, 28, was born in New York to a father from the Bronx and a mother from Puerto Rico.

    2. She sounds to me like more-extreme-than-Bernie.

Free housing? And not even Bernie wants ICE closed. Bernie has become a "moderate" socialist...

  3. This is actually a good outcome. Crowley was considered a possible replacement for Pelosi. His defeat pushes the Democrats even further left and makes her a politician incapable of moderate legislation. Others have already mentioned that she will represent a district in which 80% of the voters don't work and don't want to work. The Dems converted a possible contender position into a fringe candidate with no further future.

      Good points.

    2. Just to mention, a poster at Breitbart was claiming to be close friends with Ocasio. Supposedly Ms. Ocasio was previously "very conservative" while dating a Republican man. Then they broke up. And she turned radical.

Also, she went to a good school.

So, she might snap out of this. Alternatively, this could all just be a con-game.

If she's not a "true believer", then maybe things will work out.

A supporter of hers was arguing at Breitbart, asking what ideas our side had. I tried explaining that if the government pays for everything, plus welcoming all in, we'll run out of money. I called him a Viking.

He seemed to want "other ideas" to debate against, as if open borders isn't significant.

Free housing, free education, free healthcare, open borders, guaranteed jobs: How is that possible?

We'd be asking Venezuela for a bailout within a decade.
