    The next time you're in Vietnam wanting an objective, check out the Hani people, who are (I assume) quasi-Chinese:

    I'm currently reading a book on kindle (Amazon) called "The Terrace Builders: the Hani and their Neighbors in Yunnan's Ailao Mountains" by Jim Goodman.

    Also interesting, to me, is how some Cambodian architecture resembles the Borgund Stave Church of Norway, which I suspect is a remnant of Nordic pagan architecture:

    Additionally interesting would be any unique garden designs, though your forte seems to be people on streets and little shops, haha. That suggests you just generally like the people, which is also nice.
