Gun Owners of America to File Suit Against Arbitrary ATF Bump Stock Ban

 Gun Owners of America

Gun Owners of America (GOA) and its Foundation (GOF) will be filing suit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Justice to seek an injunction protecting gun owners from their illegal prohibition of bump stocks.

Erich Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America said, “As written, this case has important implications for gun owners since, in the coming days, an estimated half a million bump stock owners will have the difficult decision of either destroying or surrendering their valuable property -- or else risk felony prosecution.

“ATF’s claim that it can rewrite Congressional law cannot pass legal muster. Agencies are not free to rewrite laws under the guise of ‘interpretation’ of a statute, especially where the law’s meaning is clear.

  1. A bump stock is not necessary. All you need is a belt loop to waist ammo.

  2. It doesn't matter whether bump stocks are "necessary" or not. The point is these pecker heads are not getting one more damn piece of equipment from me! This is illegal, unconstitutional and WRONG. We kept thinking Obama was gonna take our guns but lookee here - our savior Trump is the one taking them.
    NOT ONE MORE INCH....

(I never heard of bump stocks till the las vegas thing and I'm pretty sure others hadn't heard of them either. No proof any bump stock was used there either)

  3. This is just one more way for government to encroach on our gun rights. Where is the NRA on this? Where are Lapierre and Cox with their multimillion dollar salaries and perks from member dues? Huh? It is the principal of the thing. Every little nibble emboldens the leftist loons to take a little more and then some more. This is not about bump stocks, and everybody knows it. This is the same BS about turning in large capacity mags. A another ruse to infringe little by little. Wake up, people.

  4. The Bill of Rights were "added declarative and restrictive clauses ho prevent abuses and usurpations" . Even without the added 2nd Amendment, without enumerated delegated powers, the Federal Government has no power. There is NO DELEGATED POWER in Articke I, Section 8 for any gun laws pertaining to the People! The fedgov may only govern those re: arming and equipping the militia which is EMPLOYED IN ITS SERVICE!!! (Article I, Section 8.16) That is all! The 10th Amendment was one of the "added clauses" to restrict the government to ONLY its delegated powers. ALL gun laws pertaining to the People are UNLAWFUL and those officials and agents who impose them are, by definition, acting criminally! --Ron W
