If that had been the guy punching her, he would have been handcuffed and ground stomped and have a FELONY arrest and hauled off to jail. She had Intent and was in the process of committing and assault and battery, she should have cuffed and stuffed. Double damn standards. Myself, I would have decked her after the first punch, then curbed stomped her.
"No handcuffs, arrest by citation, still a misdemeanor?" What would the charges be if the tables were turned? She commits the crime, becomes the local hero, and gets to walk away. I wonder how many such citations someone could rack up in a day, or a week, before it is thought to be a mental issue, or a danger to society? Clearly she will not be punished, it would harm her self esteem to be hauled off in cuffs. She, and/or her friends, will be emboldened to commit more of the same acts where ever she/they goes. We are talking, the modern version, of the Tales of Brave Ulysses. She will be regaled as a hero amongst her peers. A REAL REBEL.
