Yes, The Alabama Legislature Is Right To Openly ‘Defy’ Roe V. Wade

It is erroneous to think of an idiosyncratic (let alone wrongly decided) Supreme Court edict, such as Roe, as the "law of the land" which is binding on all fellow constitutional actors. There is nothing in the Constitution's text, structure, or original understanding to indicate that. And in fact, the Alabama state legislators' oath of office emphatically contradicts that line of thought.

So the great state of Alabama has officially passed the strongest pro-life bill in the country. The bill, which bans all abortions except for those deemed truly necessary to save the life of the mother, now awaits Republican Gov. Kay Ivey's signature. The bill contains no exceptions for pregnancies resultant from rape or incest, and has already induced a general state of meltdown from large swaths of the rabidly pro-abortion cultural Left.

  1. Step up out of the Light, and the Light follows you. Sign the Bill, Governor. Be Not Afraid, Sir. Have Faith.

    Thanks Brock.

  2. There is even rumblings about a similar bill here in the wilds of South Dakota. I verdantly pray more states take this up and pass Anti-Abortion bills.

  3. The only thing I have a problem with is there is not an exception for rape on incest. So a woman is raped and then she is punished further by having to carry the baby of her rapist? That's not right. I disagree with this. Other than that I do not have any issues with it. Kevin

  4. The rape or forced incest is certainly a case in which the victimized woman or girl could claim the implicit right of self defense in the 2nd Amendment. But what is incredible to me, those who promote "a woman's right to choose" on this issue typically oppose a woman's choice to keep and carry the means to protect her own body against the rapist or the murderer. I would much rather an intended victim of the rapist have and use the means to defend her own body against him by whatever means necessary. --Ron W
