  1. I always liked that tune. A nice fun song that I would play most of the time whenever I would DJ picnics and such. I never realized that it was a takeoff of the old Arkyie Shibley and his Mountain Dew Boys song "Hot Rod Race" from 1950 until many years later. I always thought that it was a variation of the surf tune "Hopped Up Mustang" by Arlen Sanders and the Pacifics......

  6. Great song, great group. They played where I went to college several times and round abouts throughout Az and NM back then. Was lucky enough to sit with the band after a concert at Club 66 in downtown Flagstaff in 1975. Great times and tunes, never will see such times again.
