What Is A JHP Bullet?

The science and technology hidden in today’s jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets can be lifesaving in a criminal attack, making them the ideal choice for self-defense—particularly in handguns. The design is simple in principle, but modern engineering has packed better-than-ever fight-stopping performance into these projectiles.

  1. Modern JHP can offer great expansion. A Federal HST 124 grain 9mm can expand almost half an inch in ballistic jell. It will expand almost as much as a +P 125 grain soft lead semi-wad cutter fired out of a 38 Special. Similar weight bullet with .001" difference in diameter and similar penetration.

Lots of ways to get the same results.
