Border security key to curbing coronavirus, Cuccinelli says

Via Billy

Defending the southern border is a key part of protecting the United States from the coronavirus, a top U.S. immigration official said Friday.

A border crisis could exacerbate a pandemic, said Ken Cuccinelli, acting deputy secretary of homeland security and a member of President Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force. But the disease doesn’t currently pose a major threat in the U.S., he added.

  1. He's wrong. Border security is pointless now. The virus arrived in America LEGALLY on airplanes with passengers having visas, passports and tickets. It's now 'in the community' and there's no undoing that fact. ALL we can do now is try to curb it's spread the same way we try to keep influenza from running rampant...good hand hygiene, self quarantine when ill and common sense....which sadly is not common. If the Fed Gov had banned EVERYONE who had been in China in the past six months from entering the USA via air travel THEN "border security" would be an issue that might help. That horse left the barn long ago.

As soon as I saw 'common sense' I was going to reply 'where on God's Green Earth would one find such' but you mentioned basically the same with 'which sadly is not in common'. :)

  2. Two of the diseases that come over our southern border are TB and Whooping cough. The news media doesn't care about them even though TB especially kills far more than Coronavirus. You mainly here Whooping Cough mentioned for vaccine commercials even though it had been pretty much eradicated in this country. But since they are medical problems stemming directly from illegal immigration, they are not deemed newsworthy. Just line up and get Big Pharma's vaccines and esprcially enforce them on the children. And, oh yeah, the government gave drug companies immunity from vaccines back in 1986 --when the rates of autism started going up exponentially. I know, I'm dealing with that daily for the last 38 years! That's a pretty good gig, the government forces your product on the public and then gives you immunity from its bad side effects--Classic medical fascism.
