Supremes order U.S. city to explain its confiscation of legal guns: 'This is a significant development'

Via Billy

The U.S. Supreme Court has ordered officials in San Jose, California, to explain why they confiscated the legally owned guns of Lori Rodriguez.
They still have them.

The case was brought by the Second Amendment Foundation on behalf of the woman.

The Supreme Court justices have instructed city officials to respond by May 20.

  1. This has obviously taken far to long to get to the SCOTUS. Justice delayed is justice denied. When the court decided in her favor she should file as massive civil suit. Not just against the city of San Jose but all the police and politicians personally. Bankrupt the badtards.

    1. Agreed but we have to make civil servants liable for this to work.

    2. Then change the laws. These gualeiters love to exceed their authority granted to them under the law. Once they exceed those limits they should have no protections.

  2. The attorneys for San Jose will almost certainly haul out the old standard argument "in the interest of public safety" as their defense and odds are extremely good that old rag of a legal argument will fly. MANY courts including the SCOTUS have allowed MANY laws and actions to stand that were blatant violations of the Constitution and our rights simply because the respondent claimed their actions "served the public interest and safety". Don't expect the outcome here to be a good one.
