Herman Cain Dies From Coronavirus at 74

Herman Cain — the maverick American business czar and Republican presidential candidate who campaigned for a sweeping tax reform plan called 9-9-9 — died Thursday morning after a monthlong battle with the coronavirus. He was 74.

Cain, who recently joined Newsmax TV and was set to launch a weekly show, died in an Atlanta-area hospital where he had been critically ill for several weeks.

He was admitted on July 1, two days after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

  1. Met him when he did a whirlwind tour through my state in 2015/16 on his presidential bid. Twenty of us listened to his presentation and all of us were impressed. I gave him $100 and his manager gave me two of his t-shirts.

  4. He ran in the 2012 Republican Presidential Primary. They came up with some sexual/affair allegation to force him out of the race. I would have much more liked to have seen him go against Obama than Mitt Romney. --Ron W
