Cooper’s message to N.C. business owners: ‘You don’t matter’

“You don’t matter.”

Three words. Eloquent in their simplicity, biting in their clarity.

They come from a letter, posted on Facebook, from the N.C. Bar and Tavern Association. They come a day after the group’s founder, Zack Medford, who, in a letter to Gov. Roy Cooper, writes poignantly about how the lockdowns have crippled his industry. Have cost him so much.

“You can’t imagine how hard it is to watch all you’ve built up be destroyed — and your family’s future evaporate — while lines outside your competitors’ bars are filled with the patrons you used to serve,” he writes. “Even ABC stores have posted record sales while we face ruin.”

You don’t matter.

  1. The article mentions an important point; 'as if the governor is doing us all a favor by 'moving forward' with reopening'. What a load of hornswallop.

I hear it from regular people saying how wonderful the government is handling this. They either draw blank faces or their face scrunches into a sneer when I mention the response has been a put on all along.

I am sorry to say that Carolinians haven't shown much fortitude. I mean, the statues keep coming down and fraudulent Cooper is still in office. But I'm in CA so I don't have much to stand on. It just breaks my heart to see that beautiful and worthy land continually fouled by the heathen.

      Typical.

      Infuriating.

Rick that's because 2 out of 4 people currently residing in North Carolina ain't Carolinians. They're Liberal Yankee invaders who escaped high taxes but drug their liberal lifestyles along with them.

    4. bogs, I hear ya. I too didn't know it was that many. I know its a lot and history has shown us it doesn't take many to make the change. They're well funded too.

The commies had said they are going after North Carolina. I think that was around 2016 when they said that. It was about the same time they said they want to erect a 'wall of blue' on the west coast. Well, they got it, didn't they? But you know, their hold is very tenuous. And now having gone all in and become ever more unpalatable like they have, they are gonna crumble.

I just don't understand why these commie governors aren't taken out on a rail. I reckon I'm just being impatient. It's coming, boys. And none all y'all are too old for the festivities. Consider Samuel Whittimore. We have a grand history, more so in the south, of people taking the trash out but good. God bless America.

  2. He's just doing his part to crash the economy thinking he's helping the Democrats win in Nov. Instead he's setting up Trumpslide.

Will this experiment with a Democrat Gov open the eyes of NC voters? Or will they end up like Virginia?

    2. Too bad elections like governor is not like electoral college for President. Blue cities have too much sway over rural areas.

    3. Absolutely and supposedly the majority want to get rid of the Electoral College.

  3. So where the hell is the GOP? Is there a pair of testicles between the NC House and Senate? If they claim there is, I'd ask for a closer look figuring they probably tried to slip in a marble or couple of ball bearings.

Seriously, even Forrest's lawsuit was all but a poor political stunt and there is even video of the speaker of the house, I believe, taking a petition and telling them basically that they don't plan to do anything beyond trying to ride the issue into the election pandering for votes and donations. I say a pox on all their houses....cowardly bastards.

If they were serious they would have been in court repeatedly trying to stop this damn incompetent thug, Cooper or at least trying to pass a means to bring him to heal. Heck how about a midnight trip to his residence with some tar and feathers?

They need to at least offer to amend the Constitution of NC so ALL elected officials are subject to recall elections. Next, whatever damnable poor excuse for legislation Cooper keeps quoting as his 'legal' authorization for these gross violations of our God given rights needs to be repealed in toto.

Cooper I understand he's a jackass, but the GOP? There is not excuse for cowardice.

    Y'all have a nice day.
