Comment on Media Suddenly All-In for Secession As Election Day Draws Near

DSUCH TIMELINE timeline | Timetoast timelines

This is an idea that has been bandied about by both sides for a few years now, only there is one distinct difference here. When the right and right of center people in this country speak of an amicable divorce, they do not speak of an elimination, or purge by violence of those they don't like that the left is fond of.

They also are of the opinion that for those who loath them, "Hey, you can't stand us to begin with, why would you care if we founded our own country and you didn't have to deal with us anymore?" One would think that this would be a solution beneficial to both parties. Only this is where the big difference between the two ideologies comes to the surface. For the left is only open to an amicable divorce now because they don't think they're going to win the election. But don't kid yourself, if they win in November and the right decides it's time to leave, those on the left will cry foul and have no problem using the federal government to inflict violence - in a very public way - on those wanting to secede. During the run up to the last election, I was reading a news story about this very subject and in the comments section there was someone who identified himself as being on the right, who posed that question about everyone being better off if we called it quits.

There was someone who identified as being on the left who said the following, "No, no you don't get to leave. You don't get an escape hatch and you don't get to have your own country. You will however stay right here and get what's coming to you. You, your children and your grandchildren." I don't recall everything the guy said, but that was pretty much on topic.

  1. One would hope that they'd finally understand what our forefathers were doing: the fact is, they'll say we did it for the wrong reasons. At least it has the benefit of demonstrating that they don't know the history.

  2. They don't want you to leave; they want to subvert you like
the North did to the CSA.
    Another reconstruction attempt.
