A construction crew Tuesday began removing the empty monument pedestal under which the remains of Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife Mary Ann are buried.
The removal of the pedestal is the first part of removing the remains themselves, which ultimately will be reinterred in Columbia, Tennessee at the National Confederate Museum at Elm Springs.
Lee Millar of the Sons of Confederate Veterans told The Commercial Appeal that the removal began Tuesday morning and would take two to three weeks. He declined to identify the contracting crew doing the work.

So much for "Rest In Peace". The situation has clearly gotten out of hand. I will not be satisfied until the statue of "Bojangles" is removed from its sacred place in Richmond and moved to Detroit.
ReplyDelete:) Ill take the food though.
