The unit of the 82nd that I served with had a rotation in the ready response force. You are restricted to the theatre or PX when off duty so that the PA system can call you back to barracks quickly. And you must enjoy living out of a duffle bag.
Ppl in the know are convinced Trump was quietly put back in power by the DOD this week...so he's probably giving the orders for this deployment, which means the mess will soon be straigtened out.
