Vietnam Patches + (A friend wants to sell these but doesn't know how much they're worth)

  1. That's a tough one. After I retired and went back to the sandbox as a contractor I had all of the patches I wore remade for about $3 apiece at the Hadgi shop. They were better quality than the originals. The Air Force did away with patches about the time I retired.

  2. That's a tough question, went to a reunion with some friends I served with in Viet Nam and thought I would go on ebay and find some piasters as a gag gift, was shocked at the prices they wanted as well as the prices for MPC's needless to say none of them got either.

    1. Thanks. Seems the most treasured items come from the losing sides.

  3. I mostly collect foreign patches and flags, etc....mainly because the original US stuff has never had much value and subsequently was discarded or lost with moves or what not. It's just not available. I always look for US patches and Vietnam collectables mainly to pass on to my daughter who was with an AF airlift wing. Those look great. Unfortunately, their value is minimal compared to some WW2 patches. I plan to sell my foreign stuff when I retire to but food but would love to acquire those for my daughter. If you send your buddy my email address maybe we can work something out. Blessings to all who serve!

    3. chuckusa62@gmail.com At the least, with better pictures I can research and give him some idea what they might be worth as a grouping. I just saw an Airborne "white tongue" patch go for over a hundred bucks. Some are very collectable.

  4. Cool! I rarely get to speak with militaria collectors anymore....seems they've all gone into hiding. "History is merely a list of surprises. It can only prepare us to be surprised yet again". Kurt Vonnegut.
