This is NOT a warning from the American Heart Association (AHA, one of the two major professional associations for cardiovascular medicine professionals; the other is the American College of Cardiology, or ACC). The AHA does not endorse this thing, and in fact issued a "statement of concern" regarding this publication. (I think that was CYA by the AHA, but that's another story.) Let's look at this thing on its own merits or lack thereof.
ReplyDeleteWhat that document is is an "abstract" accepted at the AHA 2021 annual meeting. An abstract is early/abbreviated presentation of research findings. It goes through only a minimal form of peer review and is considered "provisional findings" in contrast to a fully-reviewed scientific journal article. (I have served as a peer reviewer for AHA conferences, and am also a peer reviewer for several AHA journals.)
The other thing to bear in mind that the sole author (this is weird in and of itself - medical research these days is very much a team effort) is Dr Steven Gundry. Gundry is a former cardiothoracic surgeon who has become a YouTube personality and makes his living selling nutritional supplements and his "PULS" test which no one else uses. In other words, Gundry comes across as a bit of a huckster.
That said, it is quite clear that the Jab has many adverse effects. It almost certainly makes you prothrombotic (more likely to have inappropriate blood clots) and is proinflammatory. After all, the Jab causes your own cells to make the noxious spike protein that degrades endothelial function (the ability of the arteries to dilate in response to increased blood flow). The Jab is essentially giving yourself an auto-immune disease with strong adverse effects on the circulatory system. Hello heart attacks, strokes, and myocarditis. A colleague (MD) and good friend of mine with extensive experience in clinical trials and biostatistics has gone over the VAERS database and run his own, de novo statistical analyses and has found significant (in the formal technical sense of the word) signal for excess myocardial infarction (heart attack) stroke, and myocarditis in people who have received the Jab. In subgroup analyses, this effect was consistent across the Pfizer and Moderna jabs. In the vernacular, ALL that shit is unsafe.
I am strongly against the Jab(s). I advise people to NOT take it. I have not taken it personally and will not take it. This is speaking as a US-trained cardiologist (at top academic hospitals and research institutes, not some bullshit community program full of foreign medical grads in Nowheresville, he said humbly) with over 25 years of cardiovascular research experience.
