A Confederate Church & Jesse James

Jesse James Confederate Church

 by Clint E. Lacy

You might never guess the treasures hidden in your own background. That’s what I learned after buying our house at the corner of Englehart Lane and Opossum Creek Road in rural Bollinger County, Missouri.

Little did I know that Opossum Creek Road was part of the old Military Trail during the War Between the States. The Trail was heavily traveled by Union and Confederate armies.

Follow Oppossum Creek Road (now Bollinger County Road 502) from beginning to end and you’ll easily notice a number of Confederate flags waving in the breeze — flags commemorating the soldiers of the Trail.

  1. Interesting story. Jesse James, imagine. An enigma. I am
surprised the old building is still standing but resources
such as wood was better. I only saw one flag and can't even
tell what side it was. Thanks.

  2. Sure wish I had known; I would have loved to visit his store.
Sorry for his passing. Another great pro Confederate. Of course,
harassed by the black turds. I wonder if he had any strange
encounters when departing his store for the day. Thanks much.

    2. 'For Sale'
just the way it is. I visited his on-line store.
      Some nice old guns.
      Cobb Cnty was virtually White.
I wonder which family member the store was left and if
he/she/they are of the same strong stock.

    3. If we could contact his progeny and with some information we could broadcast it far and wide. There may will be someone in that area who might be interested. Thanks.
