Ex-SEAL Commander Slams Obama on ‘Horses and Bayonets’

Former SEAL Team Six commander Ryan Zinke is blasting President Barack Obama’s apparent willingness to cut defense spending, saying the U.S. Navy “deserves more than the president’s dismissive rhetoric.”

Zinke, a Republican state senator from Montana, tells Newsmax that the prospect of a diminished Navy is “deeply troubling.”

On Tuesday, the Romney campaign released a new TV ad highlighting the differences between the two presidential candidates on defense.

In the ad, the GOP presidential nominee pledges: “I will not cut our military budget by a trillion dollars . . . That, in my view, is making our future less certain and less secure.”

Romney has called the size of the U.S. Navy, currently at 285 ships, “unacceptable.” During Monday’s foreign-policy debate, Obama said the size of the naval fleet reflects changing military needs and technology.

“Well, governor,” Obama remarked, “we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military’s changed … The question is not a game of Battleship where we’ve counting ships. It’s what are our capabilities.”

Zinke’s reaction: “His condescending remarks, suggesting that a reduction in our fleet can be compared to having fewer ‘horses and bayonets,’ demonstrates an unprecedented failure by the Commander-in-Chief to understand even the most basic roles and missions of our great Navy.”

Zinke served 23 years with the SEALs and won two bronze stars. He recently founded the Special Operations for America PAC in part to promote a strong U.S. military.

 Is there a deeper plot to Benghazi?

Maybe I’ve watched too many Perry Mason episodes, or movies like “Charade” (a very entertaining mystery with many twists and turns that are hard to anticipate), or maybe it’s because of my engineering problem-solving background, where you take a bunch of data and then try to come up with a solution that would be in harmony with the data, but let’s take a look at some of the Benghazi data that might reveal something.

(1)   Why was the Benghazi ambassador meeting with a Turkish diplomat?

(2)   Why was such a meeting taking place in Libya?

(3)   Why weren’t troops sent from Sicily (just 45 minutes away) when the first calls immediately came for help and yet all 4 Americans weren’t dead until 7 hours later?

(4)   Why was there a drone in the area?

Okay, so now let’s put forth a story that could explain these 4 points of data.

The U.S. was running arms to the Syrian rebels through Turkey. They had to coordinate it in an obscure place like Benghazi to keep it secret. The reason they wanted to keep it secret is because the administration didn’t want another “Fast and Furious” on their hands … especially before a debate on foreign policy and an election. And here is the ugliest, most sinister and evil part of the explanation (which would give a reason for #s 3 and 4), they let the 4 Americans die because dead men tell no tales.

I know this story may seem far-fetched and the last part is hard to say, but let’s hear your story that explains the 4 peculiarities listed here and includes all 4 of them.

During his show on TheBlazeTV Wednesday night, Glenn Beck said President Barack Obama has “crossed a line” concerning the “lies” about the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi on Sept. 11. In fact, he claims “Benghazi-gate” is “Fast and Furious times 1,000.”

“I don’t think that we are going to have time to be able to get this out to the American people before the election, because the press is of no help,” Beck said. “You need to try to listen and get your friends to listen next door because this isn’t about politics. This truly is about the future of the country because we are in grave, grave danger.”

Beck explained that America has had three major scandals in the White House: Former President Richard Nixon’s Watergate, the Iran-Contra scandal with former President Ronald Reagan and former President Bill Clinton’s sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky.

But in those cases, “as the old catchphrase goes, When Clinton lied, no one died,” Beck said. In Benghazi, four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in a horrific manner.

Speaking from the model Oval Office in his Dallas studio, the host said “when you’re in this office” every lie told matters.

“[President Obama] is putting American lives in danger and he doesn’t seem to care about the consequence of his own actions,” he added. “The Libya story hasn’t passed the smell test with me from the beginning, but it keeps getting worse.”

The Ghirardi Compton Oak has been a piece of League City's history for over 100 years. The tree stands 56 feet tall, has a canopy that is over 100 feet wide, and is 135 inches around. It also weighs an incredible 518,000 pounds. A county road widening project put the future of the Ghirardi Oak in jeopardy. Council voted to use park dedication funds to hire Hess Landscaping Construction to move the majestic oak. A project that took them just under a month to complete. This city spent thousands of tax dollars in court to remove a marker, that was approved by this city to honor these honorable Southern Men!

What remains of it lies, buried and long forgotten until now, beside today’s Fredericksburg City Hall where a new courthouse will soon rise.

Now, thanks to intense scrutiny by archaeologists and local researchers in recent weeks, you can add this once-substantial row house to the casualties of the Battle of Fredericksburg.

The Civil War’s most lopsided Confederate victory, won 150 years ago this December, not only killed or wounded nearly 18,000 men, it erased the brick structure from the town’s landscape.
