South Carolina Is About To Pass A Bill To Nullify Obamacare

While we all know that the disaster that is Obamacare is extremely unpopular throughout the country, South Carolina is leading the charge to actually nullify the legislation. House Bill 3101 already passed the state House back in April by a wide margin, and is set to be voted on in the state Senate in January. It is widely expected to pass and then be signed into law by Governor Nikki Haley.

If that happens, it would set up a huge states rights victory and likely encourage other states to follow suit. It will be extremely interesting to see how the feds respond to this…

Feds shut down mint that turned Internet-based bitcoins into physical currency

The federal government has shut down the nation's premiere bitcoin mint, creating a roadblock for those who are trying to bring the online currency into the physical world.

Agents from the U.S. Department of the Treasury shuttered the Sandy, Utah, business of Mike Caldwell, who had minted about $82 million worth of bitcoins, taking a share of their value as payment, Wired magazine reports on its website.

 Like its 302-powered counterpart, the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 was named by its designer Larry Shinoda after his friend Semon “Bunkie” Knudson, who oversaw Shinoda’s work at Chevrolet and then Ford, after the pair defected to Dearborn in 1968. In the process of rescuing the new Mustang, Shinoda created the powerful but agile Boss 302, whose improved chassis and styling were the perfect platform for homologating Ford’s new NASCAR 429 “semi hemi” engine. Thus the Boss 429 was born, built by Kar Kraft in Brighton, Michigan. This 1969 Boss 429 is Kar Kraft number 1696, one of very few still in existence that remains unrestored but for a single repaint in the original Candyapple Red.

Hanoi Jane Fonda Foundation Not So Charitable, Records Show

Though Jane Fonda’s private foundation has nearly $800,000 in assets, the group has not made a charitable contribution during the last five years for which it has filed federal tax returns, an apparent violation of Internal Revenue Service rules.

According to the Jane Fonda Foundation’s most recent tax return--filed last year and covering calendar year 2011--the organization’s cash, stock, and bond portfolio was valued at $798,133. The filing lists the 75-year-old actress as the foundation’s president and chairman of the board, and reports that she devotes 10 hours a week to the charitable group.

Top official in Obama birth mystery killed

 

A key Hawaii official in the dispute over Barack Obama’s birth certificate – who lifted state restrictions to allow the White House to present the document to the public – has died in a plane crash.

Loretta Fuddy, the state health department director, was the only fatality among nine people aboard a Cessna Grand Caravan that went down at about 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday while heading to Honolulu.

Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC that the other eight people aboard were rescued from the site of the water crash.

As the first post on this new blog I thought it appropriate to explain a little about its purpose and point of view.

I have been deeply involved in one way or another in the fight for liberty the past decade and generally involved in the struggle since the late 1980's. I wrote a booklet called the Constitutionalist and while that helped some to understand the fight, it did not do enough. I have organized events in Washington DC, to no avail. I have written extensively about the legal case for the Constitution and against the tyrants in government and the tyranny has only picked up momentum.

All the while I have known deep down that it went further than some document scratched out by the founders in the heat of a Philadelphia summer.

NC: Rep. Deb McManus resigns after embezzlement arrest

State Rep. Deb McManus, D-Chatham, resigned Wednesday, hours after she was arrested on embezzlement charges.

The state Department of Revenue charged McManus, 56, of 11 Pine Forest Drive in Siler City, with three counts of embezzlement of state property. She was released under a $150,000 bond, and her first court appearance was set for Thursday in Wake County.

McManus is the bookkeeper for Carolina Family Practice, a Siler City medical office run by her husband, Dr. Keith McManus. Authorities allege that she helped the practice "embezzle, misapply and convert to its own use" $47,369 in state individual withholding tax between January 2011 and last July.
