Gun store owner refuses to give feds customer list

 80 percent lower receiver
I believe this is the gunstore where one of my son-in-laws says they have lower receiver parties where many come and do it at one time.  Sounds like fun.:)

The owner of an Oceanside store that sells various gun parts to build a rifle from scratch refused to turn over his customer list to federal agents.

Dimitrios Karras, owner of Ares Armor, said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents were investigating their business, not for what they sell, but for the people who purchase their products.

Karras said the ATF threatened to shutter their business if they didn’t hand over the names of 5,000 customers who have purchased an 80 percent lower receiver (the base) for building an AR-15.

HHS official resigns, pens a must-read rebuke of federal bureaucracy

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius attends an event held in observance of World AIDS Day at the White House in Washington December 2, 2013. U.S. President Barack Obama and his HealthCare.gov website face another critical test starting this week, as Americans who have been unable to enroll in health coverage under Obamacare rush to a site that continues to face challenges.

A Health and Human Services official has resigned after dealing with the frustration of the “profoundly dysfunctional” federal bureaucracy, which left him “offended as an American taxpayer.”

In a resignation letter obtained by ScienceInsider, David Wright, director of the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) — which oversees and monitors possible research misconduct — offers a scathing rebuke of the unwieldy and inefficient bureaucracy that he dealt with for the two years he served in the position.

College cancels diversity ‘happy hour’ after learning event coordinators intended to exclude white people

Via Carl

South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) is located in Olympia, Washington. Amongst the many offices the college provides is the Diversity & Equity Center (DEC), which is described as place, “meant to be a safe, hate-free space for ALL students. It is a place where we can connect with our own communities while learning from other communities. It is a place dedicated to respectful learning, community building, and the appreciation of diversity.” So it’s with that in mind that many are wondering why a planned DEC “happy hour” focusingon diversity would seek to exclude white people, as KING 5 News reports.

NC: GOA Political Victory Fund Endorses Greg Brannon

In six years, Senator Kay Hagan has done more to harm our Second Amendment than most Senators accomplish in multiple terms.

She has been an avid support of the anti-gun ObamaCare law; she voted for anti-gun Eric Holder; and she supported the Toomey/Manchin universal registration bill. These are just a few of the ways that Senator Hagan has blatantly attacked our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Make no mistake about it, Sen. Hagan has been NO friend of law-abiding gun owners and has been ready to help Harry Reid any chance she can. That’s why it’s time for gun owners in North Carolina to exercise their right to vote and oust Senator Hagan from her office in Washington.

And that’s also why Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund is supporting Dr. Greg Brannon in his bid to take Senator Hagan’s seat.

Dr. Brannon operates a successful medical practice in North Carolina, and more importantly, he staunchly supports and defends the Second Amendment like our Founding Founders intended. He has met with our staff, and answered our candidate questionnaire with 100% accuracy.

Dr. Brannon has promised to do all in his power to repeal federal gun control laws and will also work tirelessly to defund and repeal the anti-gun ObamaCare law. He is fully committed to restoring and defending the Second Amendment to its fullest intent.

You can help support Dr. Greg Brannon by visiting his website at www.gregbrannon.com and discovering how you can get involved with his campaign.

This is our chance to send a true pro-gun patriot to Washington and to have our Second Amendment protected by a true leader.

Sincerely,
Tim Macy

An acquaintance is moving to a smaller house and has a basement full of a train set that needs a new home. This is way too big for most peoples homes and not a toy - it is something a museum or other institution that caters for kids could set up for their entertainment.

The owner has offered it to some museums already, but so far they haven't even looked at it. It is a fabulous display that cost a fortune, took years to assemble and I'm sure it would enthrall most kids. The owner is pretty despondent about scrapping it all.

It is available free, to whoever can use it. If any of you know of any museum, church, club, hospital etc that would welcome such a nice donation and could find the space to set it up (+/- average living room size) - please talk to them and let me know. I told the owner that, between you all, you must know every institution in the area that caters for kids. Please ask around.

Officials: Chinese Spying Helped Develop Stealth Jet

U.S. officials and defense analysts have indicated that China's multiyear cyberespionage operation yielded sensitive technology and aircraft secrets which it was able to use in building its new J-20 stealth fighter jet.

The Chinese cyberspying occurred in 2007, when it compromised military contractors Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman, and included stealing plans for the Pentagon's $300 billion Joint Strike Fighter project — the Defense Department's costliest weapons program ever. Designs for nearly two dozen other major weapons systems were also breached, The Washington Post reported.

Other weapons systems accessed by Chinese hackers include the Patriot missile system, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, and the Army's ballistic missile interceptor program
Aegis.

The Joint Strike Fighter, also known as the F-35 Lightning II, is the most technically challenging weapons program the Pentagon has ever attempted. The plane relies on 7.5 million lines of computer code, which the Government Accountability Office told The Wall Street Journal is more than triple the amount used in the current top Air Force fighter.
