Navy Top Gun Trainer: Social Conditioning Focus Is Suffocating Retention Efforts

Social “conditioning” programs aimed at making the U.S. military a kinder, gentler, more lawsuit-proof workplace have begun supplanting its core mission: fighting and killing enemies.
That’s the open message a former Top Gun instructor is sending the U.S. Navy’s top brass.
The website of the nonprofit U.S. Naval Institute is featuring this month a lengthy study by Commander Guy Snodgrass, who cautions that a lack of trust in senior Naval leadership – borne from a combination of factors that includes too great an emphasis on social issues and not enough on fighting wars – is precipitating a severe enlistment and retention crisis.

One morning in 2007 I snuck off to the Wilderness/Chancellorsville battlefield; it's about a 50 minute drive south for me. As it was a beautiful day it was good convertible weather.
I went partially to either prove or debunk something I was told when I was in the Marine Corps. The story goes like this: At the Battle of Chancellorsville in May, 1863, "Stonewall" Jackson was hit by his own men while doing some nighttime scouting. His left arm was amputated and he later died of complications.There are three places in Virginia associated with this: a stone next to the visitor's center that marks where he was hit, the house on the other side of I-95 where he died (called the Stonewall Jackson "Shrine" - which tells you something about the South), and the place where his arm was buried.

What are the odds, in today's world, of 26 victimized families at Sandy Hook, ALL deciding not to sue a multi-millionaire, who is seemingly an easy target?
Peter Lanza has a lot of money. Whether you believe he is responsible for the actions of his son, or not, you cannot deny that the man is loaded by most people's standards. Are you aware that he was paying Nancy Lanza over $250,000 a year to take care of Adam?
Our best clue of his actual salary comes from Yahoo:
But where is the father's culpability in all of this? The General Electric financial executive, who makes over a million dollars a year helping his company evade taxes, has so far gotten a pass from the media and the public.
Before I go on, I want to note that I do not believe that Peter Lanza should be sued and many of our readers will not either. But in today's world when people see dollar signs and opportunity they jump. I just find it very odd that none of those 26 families is suing.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Now Discriminating Against Law-Abiding Gun Owners

It wasn’t that long ago when Dick’s Sporting Goods pulled all black semi-automatic rifles from their shelves. They felt that in light of the Sandy Hook tragedy, these guns possibly should not be sold.
This of course caused massive complaints against Dick’s, by law-abiding gun owners protesting their lunacy.
Dick’s has now returned for round two! A member of Gun Rights Across America we’ll call “John” went shopping for .308 cartridges at the Dick’s in Niles, IL. When he went to checkout, he was bombarded with a list of questions after presenting his current Illinois FOID Card (Firearms Owners Identification Card – Required to purchase guns and/or ammunition under IL State Law). These questions are not required to purchase ammunition, only a current FOID Card is necessary, so John declined to answer and asked for a manager.

No Justice Department Charges Against Ohio Woman Who Voted Six Times for Obama

Last week Al Sharpton embraced convicted vote fraudster Melowese Richardson at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati. The United States Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done nothing to Melowese Richardson 410 days after she admitted on camera that she committed multiple federal felonies by voting six times for President Obama’s reelection.
Federal law makes it a felony to vote more than once for President. In fact, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973i(e) subjects Richardson to twenty-five years in federal prison for her six votes for Obama.
