Townhall reported on the "knockout" game last week, and now one participant is learning that trying to knock random people unconscious with a single punch could have dangerous consequences.
Marvell Weaver, a 17 year old from Michigan, attempted to "knock out" a man at a Lansing bus stop.
Unbeknownst to Weaver, the man was a legal concealed carry permittee and was carrying a gun at the time.
After approaching the man and "shoving something" into his side, Weaver was shot twice and survived. He has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Whew! Im out of breath from dancing a jig after reading this. Kudos to the shooter defending himself. Im guessing if a few more get drilled maybe this might have less appeal. Get your permit Americans and arm yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this! :)
Deleteglad everyone is safe and the bonehead has to serve time for the crime.
DeleteHe's lucky to be alive.
DeleteBut, he should have used the maxim.... keep shooting until the target changes shape or catches on fire... Had he done that, the scum would be taking a dirt nap instead of a year in jail...
ReplyDelete:) He's lucky to have made it.
DeleteI have to agree that a year of lock up dont seem like enough of a punishment. These fairy judges need to set an example for this kind of crime. Its one thing to get in a fist fight and get your rear end handed to you. Totaly differant to be randomly, unexpectedly assaulted. That sticks with a person, leaves them feeling violated. If is only a year, it should be at hard labor.
DeleteHeres a sled hammer, get to work on that pile over there. It would be hard to forget.
DeleteIn Big D yesterday, and went to a Denny's with daughter in a rather dark part of town. Didn't have one problem. But then, there's very few places I won't go to up there. I mean, afterall, we ain't talkin Atlanta here.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteFinally, someone shows these little thugs who's boss.
ReplyDeleteYes, about time.
DeleteAnother reason to carry a .45 .....
ReplyDeleteI'll guess he had a .380.
DeletePrice-less
ReplyDelete:) !
DeleteHe's a minor, hence the lenient sentence.
ReplyDeleteYes. Thanks.
DeleteCan't wait till one of the bastards tries it on me. I promise I won't stop pulling the trigger till he's dead.
ReplyDeleteThey'll come up from behind you every time, the brave men that they are.........
DeleteAny time I'm out in the public I have my 360's on full blast, especially around the darkies. If they can break through my perimeter more power to them, but I've already sent one to take a permanent dirt nap a few yrs ago and that's exactly what he tried to do, Two of them come up from behind and tried to rob me. They had no idea I seen them coming till it was too late. I got one in the chest with my 45, the other ran away and I shot at him till he was completely out of sight. I refuse to be a victim. It don't bother me one bit to send 'em to hell.
Deletewhy would you want to put yourself in a dangerous situation and one in which you would have to shoot someone?
DeleteI doubt if there are many Charles Bronsons out there, just people who wish to be left alone, but go armed to protect themselves.
DeleteThe last time I checked this is still a free country and we are free to move about of our own free will. I don't go anywhere I'm not legally supposed to be so ANYTIME I'm out in public and someone else takes it upon themselves to try and relieve me of ANYTHING that belongs to me he'd better not ever bring a knife to a gunfight because that's exactly what he's going to get. I don't WANT to hurt ANYONE, but I refuse to allow the criminal element to force me to live in a bubble and I also refuse to be a victim, it's my choice, not theirs. If they choose to pull a deadly weapon on me they'd better be ready to use it on me BEFORE I use mine on them.
DeleteYou're dern' tootin'.
DeleteToo bad the little bastard wasn't killed, and too bad more aren't shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beginning. :)
DeleteIf more people would be willing to take responsibility for their own safety the problem of violent crime would plummet. I am, and WILL, do my part.

DeleteAbsolutely. An armed society is a polite society.
