Sure is and I fished/dove the same waters many years back, but don't remember Yellowtail being there, but we would be trolling numerous lines for Bonita in January. Hand sized rock scallops in about 80 feet of water also as well as big Sheephead. They are much bigger than on the east coast with some over 40 pounds, but the largest I ever shot was 15. Used to be a lot of Abalone slightly north of San Clemente too.
