In a case regarding a specific gun control law which bans “unauthorized aliens” (illegal immigrants) from possessing firearms in the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit did the work of a contortionist by upholding the law while also pointing out that they “see no principled way to carve out the Second Amendment and say that the unauthorized (or maybe all noncitizens) are excluded.”

In a word—illegal immigrants have Second Amendment rights too.

The case was titled United States v. Meza-Rodriguez, and the decision was handed down on August 20.

  1. More proof that this country and culture have gone insane. So the judges on the Seventh Circuit have done by their warped, twisted ruling, is to again reward those who break the law. It seems that there are two kinds of people in the world, those who are expected to obey the Law, and those who don't have to, if they don't want to.
Why stop at just the Second Amendment? Why not have the Seventh Circuit court rule that the Bill of Rights apply to all of humanity every where on planet Earth? Why should we obey the law when illegal immigrants/invaders don't have to? Why?

  2. We have no borders and we have no rule of law. People need to wake up in a hurry. Neighborhood protection teams are going to be required....soon!

  4. If one believes that the right to keep and bear arms is a natural or God-given right, and that the 2nd Amendment only affirms that right, then the court is correct. If one believes, as gun-grabbers do, that our right to keep and bear arms are granted by the 2nd Amendment, then those can just as easily be taken away by abolishing the amendment, as was done to end Prohibition.

So the issue at hand is whether an illegal is committing a crime simply by keeping and bearing arms. I'd agree with the court and say no. Whether an illegal alien should be allowed to purchase guns in a gun store is a separate issue. Just possessing them, though, for lawful self-defense purposes, should not be a crime.

    1. It is a Natural Right and we don't need the second.

  5. Well, since background checks on illegal aliens are -by definition- impossible, I guess those can be found unconstitutional as well, right? Or is that only if you are of politically favored heritage and pigmentation...
