Turkish Coup Attempt Loses Momentum: Erdogan Is Back In Istanbul After Turks Take To The Streets, Clash With Army

Via Terry "Coup fails. Bad news."

Update 24: After emerging from the Istanbul airport, Erdogan is now holding a press conference.
  • ERDOGAN: COUP ATTEMPT A 'BLESSING' AS MILITARY TO BE CLEANSED
  • ERDOGAN: THE BEHAVIOR OF 'NEW TURKEY' WILL BE VERY DIFFERENT
  • Erdogan says traitors in military are taking orders from Pennsylvania, where opposition leader Gulen is based
Erdogan has accusing his old nemesis, the cleric Fethullah Gulen who lives in Pennsylvania, of orchestrating  the coup, even though moments ago Gulen’s Alliance for Shared Values condemned the coup attempt. “We condemn any military intervention in domestic politics of Turkey,” Alliance for Shared Values, group backed by preacher Fethullah Gulen, says in statement on its website.
* * *
That doesn't matter to Erdogan however, who continues with the well-known narrative. As a result, many have suggested that this poorly planned coup was in fact created by Erdogan himself to bolster his popularity and his international political image, and so now armed with the sympathy vote he will actively push to conclude Turkey's conversion from a parliamentary regime to a presidential one. As such the coup was nothing more than a carefully staged prop, one which saw virtually nobody hurt, nobody arrested, and practically zero actual involvement by the "army."

It remains to be seen if this is true.

  1. Yea, it has failed. Didn't last long. I am sick. That
dirt bag, Obama, said to support the democratically elected leader. BS. Actually, Erdogan was not democratically elected. Any real democracy supporter competition, he banned.
How many democratically leaders has the US assassinated,
    over-thrown. I don't have enough fingers.
I know if we had a coup, I wouldn't support this fraud.

  2. I do not know how the Turkish military failed as Turkey has
the second largest military in the world second to the US
unless all were not on board: Truth: China has the largest standing military in the world, ready to go at a moments notice.

I imagine they couldn't count on getting anymore and decided to throw the dice.

  4. This coup appears to have been doomed from the outset. One of the cardinal rules of such undertakings is to 'blackbag'
anyone who can effectively oppose you as early as possible, ideally before the news of a coup becomes openly known. Those behind this committed the cardinal sin of not getting Erdogan and his associates and putting them incommunicado as the first thing done.

Now Erdogan is going to run through the military command structure like shit through a goose purging anyone who is even remotely suspected of being anything but a professional
brown noser. Military competence will be irrelevant. ALL that will matter will be loyalty to Erdogan and loyalty to islam. Either the Turkish military will be emasculated and become just another bully capable of only picking on it's own people or this purge will trigger another coup....one that may actually succeed.

Erdogan is NOT a friend of the west. He is first and foremost a tyrant who manipulates things to keep himself
in power. Second he is MUSLIM....and therefore WANTS to
see terrorist attacks on the west. He just wants to make
sure that Turkey and it's aid to islam does not come to light. Things in that region were already complicated...they just got worse. There will be consequences, what and to whom are too early to foretell.

Just thinking about that this morning. They should have studied South Vietnamese history. :)

You could replace Erdogan's name with Obamas. :)

      I pray.
