John Pegram killed

 http://www.goinhome.com/images/pegram.jpghttp://www.goinhome.com/images/hetty.jpg

On this day in 1865, Confederate General John Pegram, age 33,is killed at the Battle of Dabney’s Mill (also called Hatcher’s Run), Virginia.

Pegram graduated from West Point in 1854, and served in various posts in the West before resigning his commission at the start of the Civil War. Pegram then received an appointment as a lieutenant colonel in the Confederate army. Sent to fight in western Virginia during the summer of 1861, he was captured by General George McClellan’s men at the Battle of Rich Mountain. Pegram was exchanged in April 1862 and sent to serve with General Pierre G. T. Beauregard in Mississippi.

He fought in Tennessee and Kentucky and earned a promotion to brigadier general. After the Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863, Pegram was transferred to General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. He was wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness in May 1864, but recovered to fight with General Jubal Early during the Shenandoah Valley campaign in the summer of 1864. That fall, he was sent to defend his native city of Petersburg, Virginia.

On January 19, 1865, Pegram married Hetty Cary, a prominent Richmond socialite.Even in the gloom of the ongoing siege, the ceremony was a grand affair attended by nearly all of the high-ranking Confederates, including President Jefferson Davis and his wife, Varina. One onlooker said of the bride that the “happy gleam of her beautiful brown eyes seemed to defy all sorrow.” Just three weeks later, Pegram’s body was returned to the same church, St. Paul’s Episcopal, and his young widow knelt beside his coffin as the minister who married them presided over the general’s funeral.

Southern states didn’t rise in rebellion

Editor, Richmond Times-Dispatch:

A Correspondent of the Day accused Dr. Walter Williams of mythmaking concerning black Confederates. I would like to point out some myths in this correspondent’s letter. The Southern states did not “rise in rebellion against the United States” in order to expand slavery. Quite to the contrary, in their attempts to peacefully secede from the union of states by the same method all states had originally acceded to it — through their respective sovereign conventions — the Southern states willfully gave up any opportunity of expanding slavery into the territories. In the process, they effectively removed slavery from the United States altogether. One would think the abolitionist North would have happily said “goodbye and good riddance” to them, but it did not. Why not?

With the Southern states out of the union, the North would lose its major source of cotton for its mills, its major source of markets for its manufactures, its major source of income from the tariff, and its control of the mouth of the Mississippi River. The Northern economy would collapse. So President Lincoln drove the Southern states back into the union at the point of the bayonet. The South was simply defending itself from invasion, conquest and coerced political allegiance — just as the 13 slave holding Colonies had done when they seceded from the British Empire in 1776.

No one can argue that slavery is not a coercive labor system, but many faithful slaves (some bearing arms) accompanied their masters to war, rescued them from their wounds, and got them safely back home.

NC: RINO Attacks Pro-Gun Pittman as ‘Establishment’

Picture of Larry Graham Pittman
Representative Larry G. Pittman

Clearly, high-dollar focus groups are informing GOP insiders that “establishment” is a losing word…

Why else would a malleable RINO attack one of the most pro-gun, non-conformist members of the NC House as “establishment?” It’s entirely senseless.

Rep. Larry Pittman (R-Cabarrus, GRNC ****) is one of the most Conservative members of the North Carolina House (Dist. 82), yet it has been reported that Rep. Pittman’s primary opponent, Michael Fischer, or his surrogates, are running ads that refer to Rep. Pittman as the “establishment” candidate.

Rep. Pittman has repeatedly earned a perfect four star rating from GRNC for his words, his actions, and most importantly his voting record in the General Assembly. Larry Pittman does not just talk the talk, he walks the walk. He has fearlessly and unapologetically fought, not only for your gun rights, but for Conservative principles in general.
The RINOs are probably trying to remove Rep. Larry Pittman from office because he’s getting in their way. For this reason, he could really use your help. Please consider a donation to his campaign, and/or consider volunteering. Please help this non-establishment statesman stay in a place where he can continue to fight for you.
When one’s opponent levels accusations that are obviously 180 degrees out of phase, it raises suspicion. With that in mind, read below about Michael Fischer’s thoughts on gun rights in his own words and documentation (or lack thereof):

It’s True What They Say About Dixie

Throughout most of American history region has been a better predictor of political position than party. That aspect of our reality has been neglected and suppressed in recent times as the rest of the country has conspired or acquiesced in transforming the South into a replica of Ohio.

Yet the notorious squeak vote on the ObamaCare bill shows that the old reality still exists and that the South is still the core and mainstay of any viable American conservatism. My friend Bill Cawthon has run down the statistics on the House of Representatives vote. Of the four census regions, the South was the only one to vote against the federal takeover of medicine. The South (the Confederacy plus Kentucky and Oklahoma) voted 71 per cent against the bill; the Northeast 75 per cent in favour; the West 61 per cent aye; and the Midwest divided evenly.

Every Southern State voted a majority negative. The no vote included 19 Democrats from the South. If you remove the four sparsely populated Plains States of the western Midwest, the Midwest total moves to a majority in favour of ObamaCare, even allowing for the no-vote of the Southern border State Missouri.

This pattern has held on every major piece of legislation since 1965, even allowing that Southern Congressional districts are designed by federal lawyers and judges to maximise the minority vote. Immigration, balanced budget, public prayer, women in combat—the South has provided the brake on the leftist agenda of federal grasp. Of the 212 nay votes on ObamaCare nearly half (100) came from the South.

A century and a half ago, John C. Calhoun, one of the most prescient observers of the American regime, remarked that the South was the balance wheel of the Union which prevented the whole from flying apart under the stress of the manias that regularly seized hold of the mainstream. It looks as though that is still true, though our ability to control the machine grows weaker year by year.

U.S., Russia “Base Wars” In Syria As Turkey Allegedly Prepares For Invasion

russiaamerica

The chess pieces are continuing to be set by the world’s two superpowers in Syria in steps that are slowly leading to the possibility of a direct military confrontation between them. That is, if the United States and NATO do not abandon their pipe dreams of world hegemony and the destruction of the secular government of Bashar al-Assad.

The latest chess pieces being moved around on the board come in the form of air bases now being set up and expanded by both the United States and Russia inside Syrian territory.

According to reports from a number of media outlets, most notably Al Jazeera and Foreign Policy, the United States has now taken control over the Rmeilan Airbase in Northeastern Syria, in the Hasakah Province.

Separation In Place

The need for separation, on many levels, is clear. This is my outline for a system I call separation in place. It is my initial thoughts, and is far from the actual nuts and bolts of what would be required to enact it, however even this basic outline runs to over three thousand words as it is, so make yourself comfortable and take as long as you need.

The Need to Separate

Democracy has been a rigged game since the start, and it will only get worse for us, so we deem it better not to play. Voting is pointless and is against reactionary principles by default but the resurgence of nationalist and quasi-nationalist political parties in Europe is an encouraging sign of both a growing nationalist sentiment and a lack of trust in the established political parties and the democratic framework within which they work.

The fact remains however, that we will not survive democracy and we need to organise and prepare in such a way as to exercise the self defence of ourselves as a distinct people as enshrined in natural law.

Thousands take part in anti-Islam Pegida protests across Europe: 'Trump is right'

Protesters from the anti-Islam PEGIDA movement marched in cities across Europe today.

With around 2000 attendees, the largest was in Dresden, the home town of the group, the Daily Mail reported.

There were also far right demonstrations in the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, Poland, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia and even Australia.

In Birmingham, 100 - 300 protesters joined the first PEGIDA demonstration in Britain. A silent march walked through a Birmingham industrial estate, a Guardian journalist reported:

Russian Video Depicts Obama as Devil

Via comment by Anonymous on Refugees Go Clubbing In Russia, Harass Girls, Wake...

“A video depicting President Obama feasting on the souls of a half-million people was reportedly projected onto buildings in downtown Moscow early Friday along with a message calling for him to be tried in international court.

“Video footage uploaded to YouTube shows a computer-generated version of Mr. Obama picking up little spheres colored in the national flags of several countries and placing them in his mouth.

“The president’s face gradually turns red and horns sprout from his head as he begins to chew and symbolically destroys the populations of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine and Libya.”

Obama is not only despised by many Americans–he’s also managed to antagonize, alienate  and even terrify some people around the world.

GENERAL PIQUEMAL, FORMER COMMANDER OF THE FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION, ARRESTED IN CALAIS TODAY.

Via Richard

From François Desouche:

PEGIDA did not respect the ban on the demonstration in Calais. While Interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve wanted to avoid all "disruptions to public order", about one hundred marchers protested on Saturday in front of the train station. At least three persons were arrested during confrontations with police who were out in large numbers, and equipped to deal with trouble. Between rounds of la Marseillaise, they shouted slogans such as "migrants get out" and "Calais for the Calaisiens"…

General Christian Piquemal was among those arrested, according to a tweet. (See previous post)

Below, I believe the man speaking is the general. This has got to be a first for anti-Islam demonstrations.

Burns Chronicles No 3 – Operation Mutual Defense (OMD)

Via Gary

 http://outpost-of-freedom.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/OMD-Logo-LH.jpg

An understanding of just what Operation Mutual Defense (OMD) is, as the MSM has often referred to OMD in their articles, but have failed to explain its nature, is now in order. It is best compared with the Committees of Correspondence, first established in the 1760s, to communicate between colonial communities, and to request assistance, when warranted. As the events began unfolding in Harney County, a few months before, the Advisory Board consisted of five members, with positions available for another two seats. The Advisory Board structure was intended to ensure that, unlike many patriot appearing organizations, the leadership is not vested in one person. Instead, a matter before the Board would be discussed, with various ideas, suggestions, concerns, and other considerations, and then the majority would determine the viability of a proposed operation.

Any proposal for a call to action was first reviewed and a “brief” prepared, based upon available information and contact with the individual(s) who were under consideration for a call to action to afford them protection of Life, Liberty, or Property, if threatened, unjustly, by a government agency.

If the Board determined that a situation warranted a call to action, then word would be sent to supporters/volunteers. There are no members of OMD, except the Advisory Board and a second tier of volunteers who assist in the various “functional disciplines“.

America is a Nation Headed For a Fall

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here.

We did all that could be done.

*****************************************

When a nation is beset by problems too big or too difficult to solve, it tends to obsess over trivia. Are “Berniebros” sexist for preferring Bernie Sanders to Hillary Clinton? Does Adele’s “Hello” promote sexual harassment? Are wealthy, privileged black liberals being given enough Oscars by wealthy, privileged white liberals?

Meanwhile, when was the last time America decisively WON a war and achieved all of our objectives?  If we don’t count small excursions like Grenada, that would be WWII. We may have the best military in the world, but our ridiculous rules of engagement and meddling politicians have become more of a problem for our troops than the enemy.

Additionally, the rule of law no longer exists in America in a meaningful way.  Well-connected Democrats like Hillary Clinton can break the law with impunity while Republicans like Scott Walker and Rick Perry have to face politically motivated prosecutions. Meanwhile, our government openly encourages illegal aliens to laugh at our laws while liberal judges ignore the Constitution and base every ruling solely on their ideology. Justice is supposed to be blind, not just politics by another means.

Rape, question about:

Acting civilized: doing right by others even in the absence of negative consequences for doing wrong.

For example, not raping just because you can get away with it. Not littering. Not stealing. By my definition, every country has some civilized people and some savages in it. And not all savages victimize others, some fear the consequences enough to check their own impulses.

As an adult non incarcerated male, I don’t evaluation my daily outfit for how much of a target they would make me for opportunistic rapists. Depending on the location, more than a few of my female friends have to consider it. Living up to Kipling’s idea of how dangerous women are would go a long way towards making more of the savages desist in their rapey behavior for fear of immediate rather than deferred consequences. As we well know, a mere chance of moderate punishment later isn’t much of a deterrent. A high probability of death or injury works better, and cuts down on recidivism nicely.
