New Studies Show Severe Racial Discrimination at University of Wisconsin

Via Matthew

(Madison, WI) Two studies released today by the Center for Equal Opportunity reveal severe discrimination based on race and ethnicity in undergraduate and law school admissions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with African Americans and Latinos given preference over whites and Asians.

The studies are based on data supplied by the schools themselves, some of which the university had refused to turn over until a lawsuit was filed by CEO and successfully taken all the way to the state supreme court. The studies were prepared by Dr. Althea Nagai, a research fellow at CEO, and can be viewed on the organization’s website, www.ceousa.org.

CEO president Roger Clegg will answer questions about the studies when they are formally released at a press conference today at 11:00 a.m. at the DoubleTree hotel in Madison—525 W. Johnson St.

The odds ratio favoring African Americans and Hispanics over whites was 576-to-1 and 504-to-1, respectively, using the SAT and class rank while controlling for other factors. Thus, the median composite SAT score for black admittees was 150 points lower than for whites and Asians, and the Latino median SAT score was 100 points lower. Using the ACT, the odds ratios climbed to 1330-to-1 and 1494-to-1, respectively, for African Americans and Hispanics over whites.

  1. There is NO SUCH THING as "reverse racism."

"Reverse" indicates it's only a one-way phenomenon - which is BS.

THERE IS ONLY RACISM, AND IT IS ALWAYS WRONG!

  2. My point is that it seems as if certain people think that somehow "reverse racism" is less wrong than "the regulsr kind."

Every time some quota or preference or "affirmative action" or (insert racist policy with benign-sounding label here) is exercised, a MORE QUALIFIED person got screwed, SOLELY BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN!

FUNNY... I thought that's what we were supposed to be getting AWAY FROM!!

What ever happened to all that "content of their CHARACTER" stuff??

One more point: I believe our right to "Freedom of Association" ALSO INCLUDES a right to freedom FROM association!

Put another way, the right to choose who we wish to associate with, includes the right to not be FORCED to associate with people we DIDN'T CHOOSE!

Thus is a VERY SIMPLE, basic concepts which our Founders (PBUT) WOULD have considered so obvious as to not need stating!

Government MUST be"color-blind", but private citizens AND BUSINESSES HAVE RIGHTS, which are SUPPOSED to be PTOTECTED by The Constitution!

  3. Oh - so you're a "racist"too?

    /Sarcasm...

In my opinion, rejecting someone because of the color of their skin is IDIOCY - but you have the G-d-given right to be an idiot if you so choose!

"Diversity" *CAN* be a good thing, ESPECIALLY when folks share a common culture, and their association is *VOLUNTARY*.

Forcing people together, ESPECIALLY when they have no common bond of culture, etc. its just a prescription for resentment, friction & ultimately DISASTER!
