style turnip greens, stewed with salt pork, beef base, a bit of sugar
and cider vinegar. Serve with cornbread and pickled onions and pass the
hot pepper sauces at the table.

Man, I love me some greens, I don't care if they're mustard, turnip or collards, made up just the way you described, except with a side of bacon.
ReplyDeleteMan, and some black eye peas alongside! What could be better?:) I eat nothing (0 - zero- zilch) from New Year's Day on until all the Black Eyes are gone, which usually takes about a week and I could still go further.:)
DeleteMan, I just ate dinner, and you made me hungry again. Well, not really hungry, but I'd sure eat a plate of that if it slid in front of me. Good food.
