Ohio valley mall security VS people taking pictures

During last week's accident in which a semi plunged into a ravine near the Ohio Valley Mall, a scuffle broke out between a mall security guard and a woman taking photos of the accident.

Mall Director of Corporate Communications, Joe Bell, told WTRF on Monday that the fight occurred on mall property and the security guard was doing her job and was explaining to the woman that no pictures were allowed on mall property when the fight broke out.

Bell added no one was charged in the incident.

  1. this should go to a court hearing, what happens outside the mall is public domain, if the mal doesn't want pics taken they should post them with signs for the public to see. this is just their way of getting one over the american public.

    1. There were no charges, but I imagine the woman could sue for assault.

  2. Mall policy states photos can not be taken of mall property. They were taking pictures of the accident ON mall property not OF mall property. The woman the rent-a-cop attacked did not have a camera she was just standing there looking at the wreck. (According to the local prosecutor the parking lot doesn't apply to the no picture rule).

    1. Even if the mall wanted to press charges they could.. any two-bit lawyer will just bring up "selective enforcement of rules" and the lady would be in the right cause the security guard put her hands on her first. Im sure anyone can go into that mall and snap selfies and pictures all the want with no consequence. You cant just say no pictures when it suites the situation.
