Just when you think you’ve heard it all, Anthea Butler, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, claimed that “America’s God” is a white racist in her July 14 editorial.
Professor Butler wrote at ReligionDispatches.org:
The not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman case has me thinking a lot about a book I first encountered in seminary, Is God a White Racist?, by the Rev. Dr. Bill Jones. As a budding seminary student, it took me by surprise. Now, as a wiser, older professor looking at the needless death of Trayvon Martin, I have to say: I get it.

Well, if she actually believes the bs she's spouting she better be for duck and cover 'cause there is probably a lightnin' bolt with her name on it.

(hi Miss V. )
I guess they make them professors regardless of their scholarly record.
DeleteHi sweetie. ;)
DeleteMiss V
Hey, I thought I was the only one allowed to call Miss V sweetie.......?:)
DeleteI'm just amazed that the schools of "higher" education, have the audacity to hire obvious mental midgets such as this female. I'm actually curious if it is really is a female and not someone in drag.

A pathetic human being.
DeleteChuckle, you ARE Brock, I was calling Terry sweetie, but you do know all you Southron friends have a special place in my heart. ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW, talked to my brother Sun., who has a copy of genealogy from our Hoke side and he confirmed we are related to General Hoke, I told him I needed a copy ASAP, as I was going to be in VA in Sept., and I wanted to go to Oakwood Cemetery to visit his grave.
Miss V
:) That is great about General Hoke and you mentioned September, so is that the latter part near the PATCON by any chance?
DeleteBrock I wish it was. We fly in on the 17th and come home on the 26th. Our daughter surprised us with tickets for mothers/fathers day, so I didn't have any say in the dates. We're going to make a trip to the Shenendoah valley to see Joel Salatin's Polyface Farm, and then on to Monticello, then we're invading N.C. to hunt for ancestors. ;)If there is any way I can wrangle it, I'd love to find a way to visit with you while we're there.
ReplyDeleteMiss Violet
Certainly and September is still nice at the beach, so plan on it if possible. If you fly back from NC, you'll have more time.
