    Never heard of one.


    Interesting as hell too.
    It must have some seriously robust crank shaft bearings to hold all that wight as the engine spins around.

    Especially the lower thrust bearing.

  3. Cool, what a crude igniton distributor - looks like something I would design.

    there was a French aircraft engine of similar design - the Rhone Poulenc? IIRC, with rotating case & hollow crank for fuel delivery. The prop was attached by extension hub to the case.

    Cooling was likely not a problem
