Nice ride! As far as Corvettes go I think the best looking Corvette was the 1963 split window coup. In my eye you can put a 63 and 64 coupe side by side. Just the change of the rear window to me hurts the look. Saying all that if I could own another Corvette I would have another 1958 roadster. I owned several back in the day when "respectable" people wanted nothing of them.
Sure was a 283 with a 4 barrel and 4 speed. I pulled the motor had it bored 60 over, added a mild cam, balanced it then switched out the original carb for a Holly 650. Replaced the standard open rear end with a posi unit and 390 gears. It did okay stop light to stop light but there wasn't big block that had a chance on a winding road. That little 283 would scream from about 2700 RPM up to 7500RPM. It was baby blue with cream coves, blue interior and white top. I owned that little car for 5 years. Bought it when I was 16 and sold it when I was 21. During those years I probably had 30 other cars but always kept that Corvette. One year money was tighter than normal my daughter had just been born. I sold that car to pay the $2000 hospital bill. Third saddest day of my life after losing my parents. In the turmoil of the last few years we lost several boxes of photos, I don't even have a picture.
