NPS: I have never worked with a more arrogant, arbitrary and vindictive group

Claude Moore Colonial Farm is a living history, family-friendly site that, according to 1771.org, “authentically portrays the life of an 18th Century American family building a life on the nearer edges of civilized society.” It is also the only National Park in the country run by a non-profit organization. Yet, even this privately funded space, which has not received a penny from the Federal government since 1980, was not safe from Monday's shutdown.

Anna Eberly, the Managing Director of Claude Moore Colonial Farm, told supporters via email today what she thought about the closure:

  1. It didn't used to be this way, but the progressives in government have infected all of it, it seems, with a disdain for the average American citizen, to the extent that they feel no shame in acting just like they are described in this article. Disgusting. Just like the IRS, this administration has corrupted the NPS. I never thought I'd see the day.

    2. Since Dixieland is a National Historic site and receives decreased tax benefits, I wonder if they have considered shutting down all y'all's Patcon? You never know when Al-Queda might decide to invade there and the NPS just don't have the manpower to police there too. That ain't right, them protecting other places and not y'all.

  2. Just our child president throwing a temper tantrum. Since the Claude Moore Colonial Farm receives ZERO federal funds this is just Obama trying to hurt as many as he can.

  3. When the crash comes ( and it is coming) the government response is going to be something along the lines of - We could have prevented this if we had only had a little more authority, and we can still fix it if you will just trust us. Between now and then, anything the government does to piss the people off is a good thing.

  5. Disgusting. And a larger barricade has been erected around the WWII memorial in DC. Also the FDA has stopped some safety inspections. So called essential personnell being furloughed makes us unsafe because they aren't working in the NSA ect. I say we boycott dc and do staycations. Stay at home and put money into your local economy..

  6. You wonder why the progressives are running up the flag of the Tea Party 'terrorists' on a 'Jihad'?
I wonder... would he? Could he? Yes, its obvious, the Black Caesar wants the shutdown, and ... the Default... this way he can say its all our fault... arrest them and take over. Didn't Lincoln pull something like that if memory serves?

    1. The best comment I read concerning the last election was something to the effect: I don't like Romney, but at least he doesn't hate America.

  8. Like I always say, If Lincoln had a son, he would look like Obama. I didn't miss by much.

  9. I am wondering if the NPS has no real authority there, whether the sheriff could arrest the NPS gestapos for trespass if he had the kahunas.
