If you don’t like history, ban it

I get weary listening to the “ ban everything Confederate” crowd because of the claim they were all slave owners or fighting for slavery in spite of many reasons to the contrary. The real reason they still beat this dead horse 150 years later is for political leverage and gain. The sad thing is, it works.

If we are going to ban everything and everyone associated with the Confederacy, let’s not stop there. Let’s strike from history and the public’s view that slavery happened in America. George Washington, the father of the United States and our first president, owned slaves. Ban him. Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. Ban him. Ban from history every American who ever owned a slave.

Let’s just ban all history and everything connected with it prior to 1865 or rewrite it to say they were all black or any color but white. We can even say Christopher Columbus was a black man who discovered America. Or let’s rewrite it all and say that blacks are the ones who discovered, designed, built and maintained America to and that they brought whites here as slaves.

This is exactly what the communists did to Russian history when they overthrew the tsars. They rewrote it or totally abolished it. Perhaps this would finally quell the screaming over certain parts of America’s history that our American Marxists find offensive or disagree with. However, I suspect they would find some other expedient excuse to make political hay over. When does the book burning begin?

  1. How convenient... I just wrote on this very thing at Tim Manning's FB Wall. It bears worth repeating here.

    Your history lesson for today:

Today Southerners are lain the blame for slavery as a guilt trip which affects public opinion, because no one wishes to be associated with slavery. But there is much more to this. The results of this guilt is that Southerners are ridiculed and looked down upon, which results in a loss of dignity and influence among people. What results from this is a loss of political influence and parity compared to others.

Before Lincoln's War Southerners the country was fairly well represented from both the North and South in terms of politics emanating from Washington DC. Before the US Constitution and until about the 1815 the South was slightly the leader as it came to politics and influence governing the country. This is readily apparent as most all our founding documents were mostly written and influenced by Southerners.

This guilt trip on Southerners started before the war was over and has actually grown in scope and hostility since the war. The ultimate results being, the original Southerners with the ideology and views concerning politics was completely shut out of Washington DC. Southerners were represented ZERO % on the federal level. The WHOLE power base of the country went to the North, resulting in New England yankees controlling and directing the affairs of the entire country. In order to maintain this new status quo Southerners and anyone else opposing the yankees had to be beat down and silenced. Many creative ways were found in doing this concerning several different movements, but the most productive and the longest lasting has been the guilt trip lain on any Southerner that dare challenge any authority of any yankee.

This will NEVER EVER change as long as this unholy forced union remains in effect! It has become the norm as part of society to forever enslave any Southern man or woman who opposes yankee tyranny. (It's not direct physical slavery which most people can only identify with, but it is the mental and spiritual slavery which is directly controlled by the government and pushed onto society at all levels, mainly being through public education.)
