A gun-control group that formed after the Sandy Hook mass school shootings in Connecticut plans to ask a national chain store in Wake Forest on Wednesday to prohibit customers from bringing guns inside.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will show up at the Staples store to make that request in person. It’s part of a national campaign to pressure the company to ban guns.
The North Carolina chapter chose that Staples because of a widely reported incident that happened there last year. A toddler reached in his mother’s purse, and discharged a handgun inside, sending a bullet through her hand.
The woman had a permit to carry a concealed handgun, and she was not charged with a crime.
