Well, I agree with your mother! I hate plastic flowers too. I told my kids they had better not put them on my grave. I see them all the time at the cemetery, most of the time the people don't even bother to take the price tags off of them. Between the sun and the wind the nasty things fall apart and I'm always having to chase them all over the cemetery. They are just tacky!
Are you calling those shoes Weejuns? They look like penny loafers to me ;-), and I wish I could find a pair, but I haven't seen them in ages.

:) They are called Bass Weejuns and are still available, but expensive. Same thing as penny loafers, the brand was just very popular when I grew up.
