Think about all those old black & white shows where there were strong men teaching their young'uns right from wrong: Ward Cleaver, Andy Griffith, Robert Young, Ozzie Nelson - from what I heard of their own personal lives, they weren't able to pull it off so well, but at least the standards of wholesomeness and good values were promoted. I am appalled how men are represented in even the most innocuous commercials - never show a woman or a minority looking stupid, but guys, particularly white guys - Go for it!
A trip down memory lane? ok Remember the western "Branded"? An officer was drummed out the cavalry on the false charge that he was a coward; ran away from a battle while the other troopers died. He carried a broken sword with him. Each episode had him having to prove his manhood.
Regarding the series Lost In Space, I remember watching a pilot movie. The movie ended with the family forming a circle and bowing their heads in prayer! I remember The Red Skelton show ending with a "good night and God Bless you".
This is the best explanation of what has gone wrong with America.
