Student took this photo of a bear just before it killed him

unnamed (7)

A Rutgers student who was killed by a bear while hiking in New Jersey snapped photos of the 300-pound beast before it chased him, mauled him — and even gouged the phone the victim used to take his last pics.

Darsh Patel was walking with four friends through the Apshawa Preserve in West Milford in September when the black bear attacked.

  1. Good: Going for a walk in the forest with a camera.

Better: Going for a walk in the forest with a camera and large caliber pistol.

Best: Going for a walk in the forest with a camera and a big bore rifle. And a pistol. And friends who are similarly prepared.

  2. NJ is #2 of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation.
and you cant outrun a bear.
black bears can run 35mph in short bursts and climb 100' tree in less than a minute.

  3. All I can is laugh. These ignorant college educated fools barely know enough to pour piss out of a boot. Their college professor told them our ancestors only killed wolves and bears for sport. They were taught by their ecology professor our ancestors were just a bunch of ignorant invaders too stupid to know they were not dangerous. They are not dangerous creatures. They just want to live in harmony with nature just like you. They are wonderful peaceful animals that need to be reintroduced to nature for diversity. No my ancestors killed them because they were dangerous and a threat to life. The more of these fools that are eaten by bears the better place the world will become.
