Gun supporters and gun protesters alike have almost unanimously come together to draw the line on one aspect of the debate — that people need to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

With the help of Everytown for Gun Safety, a left-leaning advocacy movement, Strategies 360 recently released a report that found 88 percent of likely voters oppose concealed carry without a permit.

While usually polarized between the two sides, voters who support concealed carry — 57 percent — and voters who believe it should be illegal — 40 percent — agree there ought to be a permit system before buying a handgun.(Cause' no way they can buy one off the streets for $100..........)

  2. I believe that every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms as stated in the 2nd Amendment:
    1) There should be no fee.
    2) There should be no Micky Mouse training requirement. A pamphlet on the gun laws should be available in print and on line.
    3) There should be no proficiency test.
    4) One may carry open, concealed, or both.

  3. I may consider going along with this concealed carry permit nonsense, if NC repeals the Jim Crow hustle that is the Pistol Purchase Permit. That's not very pleasant of me to admit, and while if you have a CCW permit you can forego a pistol purchase permit, I don't think I should be forced to jump thru the hoops of getting a carry permit because my only other option to legally purchase a pistol in NC means lining the pockets of Moose Butler and the Sheriffs Association.
