Gen. Odin Johannessen
FRENCH website Résistance Républicaine
reported in February that the commander-in-chief of the Norwegian army,
Odin Johannessen, has asserted that European countries must prepare and
be ready to fight "with actions and words and, if necessary, with arms,
to preserve the values that unite Europe. Europeans cannot continue to
live in peace and safety without defending themselves. You cannot win
wars without people on the ground." His statements echo those of other
European military commanders. In December, Swiss army commander, André
Blattmann, declared that the risk of social unrest is so great that
citizens would have to arm themselves.
IN
an internal document, Swedish Army Chief Gen. Anders Brännström ordered
his troops to prepare for a war in Europe “in a few years against
experienced opponents. The global environment in which we live and which
was put into place by [the politicians] leads one to conclude that we
could be at war in a few years,” Brännström wrote.
IN December,
the head of the Swiss Army, André Blattmann, warned that the risks of
social instability in Europe have intensified and that [Swiss] citizens
should arm themselves. "The threat of terrorism is extremely high;
unconventional warfare is taking place throughout the whole world; the
economic outlook is dark; and the influx of migrants resulting from
displaced persons and refugees have assumed unforeseen dimensions,"
Blattmann stated.
