Tom Brokaw at Ole Miss: 'If I were speaking at Alabama, I would have to use smaller words'

Via Jeffery

Tom Brokaw
Colossal asshole.

Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw slammed the University of Alabama while giving the commencement address at the University of Mississippi on Saturday morning.

"I'm so relieved to be speaking to a graduating class from Ole Miss," the legendary journalist said. "If I were speaking at Alabama, I would have to use smaller words and shorter sentences."

What do you think of Brokaw's remarks?

  1. Agreed, Brock. He is, as my father would say, "the north end of a south-bound jackass."

  3. I think this was his idea of a joke. Lighten up. What gets me is wearing a baseball cap with a graduation gown. What is that about?

  4. The more I hear and see from these liberal, dried up pieces of dog shit, the easier my decision is when the time comes....it is going to be a very target rich environment.

  5. He has the right to make statement he wants. Just as I have the right to ignore and disregard any thing that he to say. My only question is who was the idiot that thought inviting him to speak was a good idea? Mr Brokaw is under the mistake belief that he knows what he is talking about. He is like an actor; he reads what ever crap is placed in front of him, with a serious expression. Tom, do us all a favor, and just die.

  7. I have his Greatest generation book, unread because he is such a fool. I don't need a fool to tell me of my Father's greatness.

    2. Yes, when he was riding on a tank in the Hurtgen Forest and a fresh-to-the-front Lieutenant told him to get off and let him on. On learning that the Officer had been up for two weeks, Dad, who was at least ten years older, told him the walk would do him good. The forest was a long way to carry a BAR from Utah Beach. Theirs truly was the Greatest Generation, even if Tom Brokaw is a jerk. Thanks Brock. Your question is a great Father's Day present.

Good point. He'd probably wouldn't speak if it was displayed.

    2. OMG I just realized. He was speaking in Oxford, MS, home of William Faulkner, who, on being asked if he would accept the invitation from JFK to the White House affair honoring celebrity artists replied "Of course not. I don't have anything in common with those people." If we can't have Faulkner's like again, could we please not have pretenders like Brokaw?
