McDonald’s Reacts To $15 Minimum Wage, Announce All U.S. Stores To Be Automated

This post comes from the “Department Of I Told You So.” Back in
August we reported that a Heritage Foundation study looked at the effect
of the $15.00 minimum wage on a state by state basis the progressive
program would put between 7 and 9,000,000 Americans out of work. The
first indication that the unemployment wave may be happening is the
latest news that McDonald’s is planning to expand its digital self-serve
ordering stations and table service to all of its 14,000 stores in
the U.S.

It's not just the wages. It's the labor shortage that will result when all the current work force "repatriates" back to their beloved homelands. (sounds nicer that way than "kicked the F&%$ out"). I know I eat at McDs twice a day, every day, and haven't has a burger made or served by white hands in 10 years.

Who knows, maybe the quarterpounder may taste better and you never have to worry about spit or other fluids in your hamburger... and I bet the machine will be pleasant and have programmed manners.

DeleteMachine likely won't get my order wrong. The current employees in my neighborhood only speak English "phonetically". They don't know what the words mean, only that they should say them. So, "May I help you" becomes "Hapu". They only know enough English to recognize the menu items. Anything else and they call over a supervisor, who has been around for 2 years (in the country) and speaks enough English to translate.
DeleteIf I had to worry about spit, I would never eat out. You are FAR more likely to have your food spit in by a lib who sees your NRA sticker on your car, than anyone working at McD's. They make the food so fast they can't tell who it is going to and would not be able to create enough spit to do them all.
Seems like I remember that you are around the Pentagon, correct?

DeleteI eat at Chick-fil-A when I want fast food. I'd maybe go to Chipotle were one nearby. Anyway, I go there, bc no one spits in my food.
ReplyDeleteI want higher wages partly bc workers would then be happier. Then I would have the option of buying food that isn't defiled.
I know someone else already commented on this, but it's worth restating. Bc I know servers defile food at some restaurants. And it's only right to pay servers a respectable wage. $15 isn't that much due to inflation.

How is that liberal agenda working out? There are no McDonalds here where I live....no Wendys....no Burger Kings or Taco Bells, either. There is a Subway owned by locals. Having worked in the restaurant business, spit is the least of the worries about your food.
