Hello Compatriots,

A reminder about our May meeting on Thursday night, the 18th at 6:30, Peletier Baptist Church.  We will have a very special guest speaker for this meeting.  He is Col.(Ret) U.S. Army Wade Sokolosky.  Wade is V.P. Friends of Bentonville Battlefield, Inc.  He is also an author and his new book on the Battle of Averasboro and the Confederate Arsenal at Fayetteville came out in January.  We want to welcome this gentleman when he brings our May program.  I believe he will be speaking on the Battle of Averasboro.   Please bring a guest if you can!

We will have a few refreshments for this meeting. We may even try the Vidalia onion cornbread for a snack.  Our onion sale and fundraiser has been a great success.  We have run out of onions!

We are looking forward to a good meeting this Thursday night, May 18.  Hope to see you all there!

And thanks so much!

  1. Vidalia onions. Use to buy them at Piggly Wiggly back in the
day as Piggly Wiggly's home office was in Vidalia, Georgia.
This news item is pretty unbelievable. Dekalb sheriff
exposes himself in Piedmont park and will not be fired:

This so-called sheriff is a pervert.

  2. I'm googling "Vidalia onion cornbread" for recipes, ty.

I tend to eat mostly brown/wild rice, but I like an occasional treat.
