San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich: White People Need to Be Made ‘Uncomfortable’

Maybe I should print off range targets for the PATCON raffle.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich had plenty to say in response to President Donald Trump denouncing national anthem protests while speaking Monday at his team’s media day.

Popovich called the United States of America “an embarrassment” and followed that up by saying white people “especially” need to be made “uncomfortable” for any change to be made.

“There has to be an uncomfortable element in the discourse for anything to change,” Popovich explained. “Whether it’s the LGBT movement, women’s suffrage, race, it doesn’t matter. People have to be made to feel uncomfortable, and especially white people because we’re comfortable. We still have no clue of what being born white means.”

“If you read some of the recent literature, you’ll realize there really is no such thing as whiteness, but we kind of made that up. That’s not my original thought, but it’s true,” he continued.

Popovich added, “Because you were born white, you have advantages that are systemically, culturally, psychologically there. And they have been built up and cemented for hundreds of years, but many people can’t look at it. It’s too difficult.”

  1. When I get "uncomfortable", I usually don't remain in that position for too long. Making people feel that way might lead to a "change". Let's see where that ends up!

  2. The POS in this video clip is the one
who's "uncomfortable" and he wants to
drag everyone with him down the road
    of "apologizing" for being white.
That will only happen to weak minded
people who fall for the marxist propaganda.

  4. Wrong answer! What makes people like you, "uncomfortable" is that the majority of ills and problems people have is the reality that those things they are bitching and whining about are largely of their own creation and their immature refusal to take personal responsibility for their actions. We all have the exact same number of hours in a day, what we choose to do with that time is up to each person to decide. If you want change, then the very first place to start is with the person you see in the mirror. If Mr. Popovich feels that the USA is an embarrassment, then he is more than welcome to leave this country for good, to live in another country that he can take greater pride in. Nobody is going to stop him from leaving. Time to bitch slap this idiot, by boycotting Basketball in addition to football.
Attention pro sports fans! You are either part of the solution or a part of the problem (thus an accomplice). If are still watching pro sports, buying the products advertised shown during the games, then YOU are part of the problem. You can not be neutral. You have to take a side.

  5. Since whites comprise approximately 6% of the world’s population, it is whites who are the true minority, on a worldwide basis. Being a true minority on a worldwide basis, it is whites who should be the most cherished and protected of minorities. Uncomfortable.....I hardly think so
