The Air Force has punished a highly-decorated and respected colonel after he refused to publicly affirm the same-sex spouse of a retiring subordinate.

Col. Leland Bohannon, who was on the verge of being promoted to a one-star general, was suspended from command and orders were handed down recommending he not be promoted.

“His career is likely over and he will likely have to retire as a colonel instead of as a general,” First Liberty Institute attorney Michael Berry told the Todd Starnes Show.

  1. His career is over. So what! He kept his integrity, sense of honor as an officer and a gentleman and lastly his soul. It is the Air Farce...ah...Force that is not worthy to have him in their ranks. The old question is; what profit is there if in gaining the world (in this case promotion to General) it is at the cost of your own soul? The Air Force is such a shame and disgrace that I as a retired Air Force refuse to admit it, but rather consider myself as a retired Army Vet, since I spent the majority of my time in service wearing the Army uniform. The Air Force is a wannbe branch, where if you are not good enough to qualify for the Army, then there is always the Air Force, where you can pretend that you are smarter than all the other branches. My integrity is NOT for sale.
