My mother left this world at 91 9 years ago and it wasn't till after she was gone that I realized how instinctively smart (no college), how forgiving of my transgressions and how devoted she was to her entire family. I was overseas when I was notified she was about to die and flew home immediately. I sat with her in her last few days wishing I could come up with all that was in my mind and in my heart. I couldn't, of course, but I think my mere presence eased her passing.
