".........in the Up Country you don't tell us our flag ain't welcome"

Members of the South Carolina Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans are shouting "foul" at the organizations leadership after an announcement was made banning Confederate symbols from a monument dedication in November.

On November 10th, 2018, the South Carolina SCV will dedicate "The Signers Monument", a large  monument to the signers of South Carolina's Ordinance of Secession in 1860. The monument is being built in Abbeville, South Carolina on Secession Hill, the place where some of South Carolina's first Secession rallies were held. The monument was announced earlier this year in the Post and Courier, pointing out  that the monument is built on land held in trust by an organization associated with the League of the South. The SC SCV has raised money for the monument for many years, only erecting it in Abbeville after being denied many locations in the South Carolina Low Country.
