and all the people at NOAA are more interested in keeping their jobs at Big Bro than reporting real facts. The employees are sheep same as the FBI, IRS, USGS, etc.
No surprise here. I remember my parents talking about the summer and winter in 36 and 37. Growing up in the 50s and 60s, it was common to have 3 to 7 days every summer over 100. It has been 3 to 4 years since we reached 100 just once.
When I hear local weather here in Middle Tennessee refer to heat records, they almost always refer back to '52 and '54. Having been born in '51, I don't have remembrance of those years even though it was back before hardly anyone had AC. I think my Dad got a Fedders window unit for our 2 bedroom house around '58 or '59. Anecdotally, I haven't noticed any "climate change" around here since about '59 or '60 when I started paying attention to the weather. Most of my focus was snow predictions so hopefully school would be cancelled. --Ron W
