True. News media should specify that the syrian kurds are the ones we are talking about. But since we cant depend on them for a accuracy about anything else, this seems unlikely. Even in syria there are at least 3 major groups. Some worked with us, some worked with isis. If you look at the map, the kurds now dominate half of syria in an area where they used to dominate a small fraction of that. Where did all those new kurds come from? They were always there.
